Born and raised in India, I’m a filmmaker who is always searching for the unfamiliar within the everyday ordinary world.
Born and raised in India, I’m a filmmaker who is always searching for the unfamiliar within the everyday ordinary world.
I graduated in film direction from the Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology, India, in 2015. My students short film ‘Paakh (Wings)’ travelled to many Indian festivals. After graduation, I worked as a creative producer & executive producer for three years (2015-2018). Then, I completed an MA in Scriptwriting from the University of East Anglia, UK in 2019. Since then, I have been working as a professional screenwriter for Indian Cinema.
My stories often explore themes of existence, identity, and human connection while blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction. I like leaving key elements unresolved to emphasise subjectivity and the complexity of truth - inviting my viewers to actively engage in my cinema.
The language of subversive cinema is dear to me. Challenging the politics of gaze and social constructs is the core of my practice. Focus on the unspoken—gestures, silences, and lingering gazes - is a language that deeply resonates with me.
I'm hoping to carve my own Hero's journey that compels us to reconsider our perception of identity, intimacy, and freedom, offering a vision of cinema that is as radical as it is deeply human.
