About
My Background
I graduated in film direction from the Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology, India, in 2015. My students short film ‘Paakh (Wings)’ travelled to many Indian festivals. After graduation, I worked as a creative producer & executive producer for three years (2015-2018). Then, I completed an MA in Scriptwriting from the University of East Anglia, UK in 2019. Since then, I have been working as a professional screenwriter for Indian Cinema.
My Approach
My storytelling is shaped by slow listening and long looking—formed not about people, but with them. My themes revolve around women and identity, but they are never isolated from the larger systems that shape them.
I see art as politics. Every film I make is an act of resistance against the structures I was taught to uphold in the industry—hierarchy, resolution, the hero’s journey, the rules of who is seen and who decides. I work with form as a question, not a container—rejecting narrative closure, control, and spectacle. I'm not interested in stories that arrive neatly; I stay with what is unresolved, messy, or quietly enduring.
I’m trying to carve a filmmaking language for myself that reclaims tenderness as political, and intimacy as a form of resistance.
